Coarse Lake
As we go into the winter months the bream and chubb are showing themselves and those who can fish should do well. So far the record for largest fish caught in the coarse lake has been a 15lb mirror carp.
Trout Lake and River
As we head into the winter months the trout lake is responding accordingly to the colder weather. The 5 to 8lb rainbows added to liven up the fishing have proved challenging when caught. Playing them for a least 5 to 10 minutes is not unusual and if you have the good fortune to land one of these big fish, please return it with great care - they fight long and hard and need a good few minutes held in the water to get their breath back.
The river is now closed for the season and opens up again on the 1st April 2012, the start of the wild brown trout season. The unseasonably dry weather is having a marked effect on the water levels causing us great concern and we are hoping for a wet winter. On a more positive note there is a great amount of spawning activity on the riffles and we hopefully can look forward to a well stocked river in years to come..
Sporting Clays Shoot
The results of the trophy shoots are as follows:
1st place Mike Perry with 48, 2nd place Andy Toogood with 45, 3rd place John Jarvis with 44
and the ladies winner was Janet Perry.
The Christmas shoot will be held on 29th December 2011. We will be holding an one man, double gun with loader (birds will come thick and fast) and two man flush.
Working Party
Our latest working party saw us plant two rows of willow cuttings along the river bank. This will eventually provide the coarse lake with a wind break making it more sheltered for fishermen in the coming years.

Over the winter period the working party has concentrated on tidying, removing excess grass and weeds from the river.
Previous Working Parties
Previously the working party have been working on various jobs such as putting up netting to cover the riffles, clearing the banks and general tidying up as well as fence mending to ensure that the cattle do not wander in and damage the river banks.
